Sorting household waste and recycling

Glass goes in the glass container, paper goes in the paper container, Restmüll, Sperrmüll – we know it’s complicated! In Germany, sorting household waste, recycling and reducing waste are very important issues. Bus and Saarbahn

Within Saarbrücken, a one-way ticket with the bus or Saarbahn (tram) costs €2.60 for adults. Children under the age of six can travel for free. For shorter trips up to 3 stations (Kurzstrecke), a one-way ticket costs €1.90.

Ticket machines are located directly at the tram stations. You cannot buy a ticket inside of the tram. In buses, you may buy a ticket directly with the driver. Weekly and monthly tickets are available at Saarbahn ticket shops/customer service centres. With your SocialCard, your ticket will cost less.

At the customer service centre located at Nassauer Str. 2-4, customer service in Arabic is available between the hours of 9.00am and 5.45pm.  

Important

If you travel without a valid ticket, you must pay €60.
