Please note:

It is not easy to find a new place to live. Especially if your German is not very good, it can be difficult to phone with the landlord. Ask a volunteer or German friend for help!

There are very few available flats, and the Job Centre only pays for rent that is not too expensive.

Unfortunately someone might try to rent you a flat without official permission to do so (illegal real estate agents) – and they typically charge money for this service. Be careful! Watch out for fraud!

Important

Before you sign a rental agreement, you need permission from the Job Centre. For this, you must show them your landlord confirmation form (Vermieterbescheinigung).
